Adaptive Reuse

Ward Architecture + Preservation specializes in adaptive reuse of existing structures. Our staff is experienced in working with existing buildings, both historic and older buildings not designated as historic, and allowing them to have an extended life with a new purpose to meet your needs.

We also enjoy designing new additions that complement and respect the historic building and its context. Existing buildings often have the ability to be adapted to modern uses and environmental conditions and when done correctly, are a source of pride for the community.

Working on some landscape plans at the new office. In 1961, Clermont Lee created a design for our house, then owned by the Cann family. We are excited to use and implement her design as best we can. She was rather ambitious with the plantings.
